One of the privileges we have at FamilyLife is hearing great Christian authors, speakers, and artists share their stories with our staff. We had that privilege yesterday when the Christian singer / songwriter, Plumb, came to our monthly staff meeting. She sang three songs for our staff : “Need You Now”, “Lord I’m Ready Now”, and “Smoke” (her current personal favorite) and shared some stories with us too.
Her story is one of redemption and restoration. One thing she said continues to echo in my mind, “Because of the cross and the resurrection, there is always hope.” For quite a while at FamilyLife, we have been saying that word, Hope, over and over. We want to be about Hope, because there is always hope in our resurrected Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ.
Read a few lines from what Plumb posted on Facebook about her visit,
“HONORED. To tell our story at #familylife in #littlerock today with #dennisrainey was nother short of humbling. #familylife radio met me in my darkest hours of our marriage crisis,” and “Marriages in crisis…. There is always hope!!!!!!! God is so faithful!”
Personally, we had to lean into that hope ourselves this past week. What went from a simple, everyday tonsillectomy for Charissa – led to complications and a second surgery to stop bleeding. The doctor said, “Your condition happens in about 2% of tonsil surgery patients.” Not exactly the 2% of population you want to join. Praise God, she is back at home and on the road to recovery now.
So, where is your hope this week? The week after we celebrated the resurrection of Christ on Easter. Are you in need of hope? Talk to us, we’d love to connect you to that source of true hope.
