After our summer of thousands of miles on the road, 50 miles may not seem like a very far distance BUT 50 miles on a bike is a very different thing than 50 miles in a car! That’s what Charissa and I are training for – a 50 mile bike ride (it’s not a race). We thought seeing it on a map might give you a better idea of what it will look like. September 26th will (Lord willing) be Charissa’s 4th, and my 3rd time we’ve participated in this ride here in Arkansas. Every training season has had its own challenges – especially that first year where I was injured in a bike accident and Charissa chose to ride alone. This year our travel schedule gave us a bit of a shorter training time, and then the theft of my bike delayed things even more when we returned. At this point my new bike is here and we are back on track! As Charissa begins her Senior year of High School (yes, really), we are thankful for the time together that biking has been for us!
Please continue to pray for safety on the roads and in this intense heat. I’ll be sure to post a picture of them from the finish line!
